Getting started with Hashi Bridges

Open Hashi Bridges, check the instructions and begin a round. Connect all islands into one network with exactly the indicated number of attached bridges. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Keep the instructions close while learning this activity. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

Choose from ten nine-island layouts. Join adjacent islands along the straight connections shown.

Practice beyond the first move

After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again. Notice the feedback after each input.

Understand the aim

Connect all islands into one network with exactly the indicated number of attached bridges. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Keep the controls in easy reach.

Start here and follow along

  1. Select two neighbouring islands or click an edge.
  2. Cycle zero, one or two bridges.
  3. Match every numbered island.
  4. Check puzzle also verifies the islands form one network.

Making selections and moves

Click or tap squares or graph edges. Number boards include a digit pad. Undo reverses the previous change; Check puzzle validates the solution. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Return to the rules if the result is unexpected.

An example before you play

An island marked 3 may use a double bridge and a single bridge. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Look for the relevant detail.

Keep this in mind

Correct totals in separate disconnected groups do not win. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use.
